About Contest
Co-organized and co-sponsored by CBU Leadership Institute, Inland Chinese American Alliance, CBU College of Arts and Sciences, California Hubei Friendship Society , and Southern California Council of Chinese Americans, the 2019 International Youth Leadership Conference and Speech Contest (IYLCSC) is intended to provide youth speakers an opportunity to:
1) Demonstrate their understanding of the vital importance of leadership in today’s world, and share their leadership stories;
2) Learn different leadership theories, and improve communication skills through participating in the mentoring seminar series provided by distinguished university professors;
3) Raise their ability in research and writing and delivering leadership speech contents;
4) Connect with successful leaders in various professional fields so that they benefit from the networks for future direction of employment and orientation of leadership.

Dunn holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Oberlin College, a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California, an education degree from UCLA, and a College Counseling Certificate from UC San Diego. He is one of only 300 Certified Educational Planners or CEPs in the world, and a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association as well as the Western, National, and International Associations for College Admission Counseling. He is a faculty consultant to the Advanced Placement Program for the College Board, and he has served on the Counselor Advisory Board at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. He is the CEO of Youdao International Education LLC.
